Large jar with air bubbles and definite pontil. 6" tall, 3" across top and 2 1/2" across bottom. Thick glass. Just wondering what it was used for and what kind of cap/lid. 1/4" top edge with inner thread? I'll add a couple more pictures of top and bottom.

Looks like a suction scar from a bottle machine and not a pontil, too unfocused to tell.. I think it's a condiment jar of some kind...

It's not pontiled, it's an early ABM, or from a 'semi-automatic' bottle making machine.. it likely dates to around 1900-1910 and contained pickled food or condiment.

Definitely a valve mark on the base. Could be as late as 1925 or so. I always call them jelly jars for some reason. I like digging them, once I collected a whole bunch of different ones..purple, straw yellow, some are crude with bubbles, etc. All machine made.

Well I just went through a lengthy description that failed to fit the ABM mechanism one would need to make it. I think the mark on the bottom is from a baffle valve. But it would take a study of mold equipment seams on every surface and even then, I can't put it together in my noggen container - after all of the glass machines that I have seen around the world.
