What is this green bottle?

These often had champagne in them, though I've seen them used for different kinds of wine as well.
Of course! I should have realized that, but I was tired.... and I don't really drink champagne, or wine.

Is that a pontil on the bottom, or just something about the way champagne bottles are made?

That bottom style is called a "kick up".
Interesting to know. I came across a bunch of these in different sizes so now I have a way to do some more research for that "kick up" feature. Some of them are way up in there (for lack of a better description, lol).

I've always considered "Hock Wines" to be the thin tall nearly shoulderless wine bottles with a small or non-existent kickup.
