Here is a clear example of an 1880s vintage flat-base S.F. druggist. I had the amber variant for years and finally found this one. $15.00 winning bid. Jas. J. McDonnell/[monogram]/Apothecary/Medical Hall/San Francisco

And the amber example which I paid less for back in the day, when the San Jose club had their anniversary show in Foster City...of all places.

These are both right around 5 inches tall. Kind of the basic/average druggist/pharmacy presciption bottle from the late 1800s. The flat un-indented base examples are the earliest 'oval' prescripts. The later McDonnell's variants are mostly very common.
