The Speas jars are one of those mysterious, phenomenal collectibles that defy many collectors imagination. My answer is: to not try to figure it out. I personally wouldn't give you a nickel for a boat load except to sell to those who want them. Please don't make the mistake of belittling what others like. After all, we're all sort of weird,,,, well, some of YOU are. [8D][;)]

$1000 is a bit high. I have seen several of these sell for between $200 and $350.I have a repro I picked up for $40 before I knew they were being reproduced (I felt pretty gullible at that point). Then immediately upon finding out it was a repro, I passed up an opportunity to buy a genuine one for $55. Fool me once... Yeah...That is when I quit collecting jars and went back to strictly bottles.By the way I have a few jars for sale if anyone is interested [:)]
