Yet another find I would like thoughts on please.

Hi,

I'm back again, I made a post in December(last) for a bottle I found whilst out on a walk in a local beauty spot.

I have a lab retriever(12months old) and he picks up anything and everything. Well I have a collection of 5 bottles now, today he found another more interesting bottle but sadly this one didn't have the original screewtop with it. I think some commented that the previous bottle was around 1930's, I'm wondering if this is around same age?(if anyone could chime in I would be grateful), the thing that is throwing me is the colour of the glass, it has kind of an aqua tint I think(could be wrong).

I would be really grateful if anyone could possibly shed some light on it please, I can't find anything locally about the company named on the bottle.

Nice find! Looks BIM (blown-in-mold, made by hand by a glassblower rather than by a machine) but right at the tail end of that era, which would be around the 30s for the UK. Not sure if there were any UK glasshouses still using traditional methods by the 40s. It's interesting seeing BIM bottles in that style, over here the glass factories had switched entirely to ABM (automatic bottle machines) by that point so we don't get bottles like yours. The machine-made bottles don't have that same nice sheen to them.

Hmm, I see seems down either side that go all of the way up on the bottle to the top where the lid (rubber screwtop) would have been(dog didn't find that bit), I was amazed by the colour as it isn't like the clear ones I have found before but has an aqua tint. Anyway, I thought if bottles had seems then they were machine made?(I might be completely wrong). Many thanks for your response, it is a lovely bottle.

It has its benefits but also it's risks lol, if only I could work out how to stop him retrieving such things. There's always the risk of broken bottles, thankfully he's only ever bought 1 out that was really dangerous and he picked it up in the one place he wouldn't cut himself. You can't shout or panic as it obviously either makes it a game and he runs off or he would panic and possibly cause himself serious harm, I could muzzle him I suppose but that seems a little cruel and everyone would think he's dangerous lol.

I know how that goes.

The coolest thing any one of my dogs had ever brought me was a highly questionable bone; that prompted us to leave lol.

This was one of his more weird ones lol. Couldn't get it off him.
