Grab all the weird looking ones ,any with writing or makers stamps or really big ones. I think I speak for all of us when saying post a pick of the hoard in situ in the woods! Johnny M.
Nice old stuff. Several seem to have the same type of grunge. Looks like the lot came from a crawl space under a really old house? Curious about where they came from. Johnny M.
I like the bean head trying to get 15K for an Electric Bitters! Nice to know as they state that the bottle is in good working order.I don't think their noggin is though!! LOL :)
Great Greeley's on Ebay but...
Just search Greeley's Bitters.I don't know how to link items on my phone. I might have started my color run with this one but inside edges if lip look ripped up. Could be factory as the guy states and probably is and he has many pics but it bugs me none the less...
Sounds like a dream dump! Must be good size too. 60 or so years of city dumping? Wowza. I'd pitch a tent on that spot. Don't forget to drop us a pic or two of the bottle layer. Bitters to blob tops.Medicines to milks.Great age span on that spot. Sounds like a honey hole! Johnny M.
It was online bidding. As usual, everybody piled on at the end. I get deals at times on other groups of smalls like medals, tokens, etc but you can just about never steal a good bottle. We are a voracious hoard for good glass! Johnny M.
Amelia Jeffers out of Columbus Ohio. They auction estate collections etc and don't specialize in bottles. This was just one of the lots. I asked for extra pics and got 2 but they didn't add them to item description so I was possibly only guy who got extra pics. They showed it lighter but still...
They called it green with amber tint and it can turn greenish in different lighting but I think it's more if a peachy topaz. Website pics had it looking like a dark puce tone but while pics were crisp and clear there was no backlighting at all to show color really. Just dark looking. Odd color...
Picked this up at an online auction. Paid a pretty penny but the pics from auction were dark and made it look dark puce or something. People saw it and bid but bailed far below what I feel this color is worth. Couldn't believe the color when I got it. Cost like 8 bills including premium and...
What was the glass factory known to be producing? Do you know the name of the works and dates of operation? Where was it? (State) May be a clue in what their main product was.Often they supplied odd products, not just bottles. Just a thought. Johnny M.
You certainly are a trooper scaling that hill! I'm nature minded as well and an ASPCA member too. I love animals in general and like to leave the woods alone to them. A real shame how we crowd them out of their environments. I used to dig a dump in New Hampshire and had a little chipmunk friend...
I agree with the sulphides but really good sized funky colored swirly marbles can be good too. Maybe post a pic of your jars and somebody can tell you about what they see. Johnny M.
