Can Anyone Help Identify This Small Eight-Sided Bottle?

Looks like cruette type bottle that could have been used for vinegar, oil or condiments. Doesn't look like had a ground glass stopper though, which is odd. Possible iron or sand pontil base.

    Small aqua bottles

Some of these small aqua bottles were indelible ink bottles with paper labels. I have embossed a Carters ink and FK (F Kidder) open pontil ink. Also have tiny early paint bottles with paper as well. Cliff

    J. Ellwood Lee Co. Absorbent Gauze

Thanks for the additional information. Probably rare but not too valuable due to lack of embossing.

    J. Ellwood Lee Co. Absorbent Gauze

I dug one these bottes here in Maine back in the 1970's, still contained gauze, cover and bale. No label but still saved it for amber color. Still packed away in some of my boxes of bottles packed away years ago. Figured it was medical related anyway. Thanks for the information. Cliff

    Tiny ornate Shoo fly

I have several small ornate similar flasks, sunflower , bulls eye and diamond pattens and was told years ago that many of these contained Jamaica Ginger. Might be reason for the J G Co embossing. Possibly?

    What's the best ketchup bottles

I have collected several SSP olive oil bottles over the years but have not seen one of these. SS Pierce was a condiment supplier. Early ones were very similar in shape sometimes were paper labelled. Cliff

Thank you for the reply, nice bottles.

    Whale Oil

Very interesting bottles. What is the size of the bottles and are there any other marks on the base or elsewhere ? Look like they would be easily confused with ink bottles here in New England. Cliff

    What are these?

I would say a lot these are oyster bottles. I found some that were embossed, paper labelled ones were produced later on. Cliff

    Boston bottle with backwards ‘s’

Not sure how common these misspelled ones are, but I collected this one here in Maine many years ago. Cliff
