Thanks Oldsdig. Not all the minis have anything on the bottom. I've only looked at a few and some have the diamond D + I did see one with 666, some had no markings. As I mentioned, went back to where I found original 85 and found 10 more. So far no word from anyone indicating they've lost the...
Helped recover a brand new 75 hp outboard that wasn't attached to a transom very well. Was in deep channel at the mouth of a Trent canal lock. Lots of traffic and deeper than expected, took more time than we figured. Only other time was when a neighbour asked if I'd look for his lost anchor...
Blob.... I don't dive anymore for health reasons. Still snorkel on occasion. Find plenty of things in shallower water that people toss or have fallen overboard. I've pretty much scoured the lake bottom where my cabin is at, plus many others. Fished up several angling devices, several good plough...
Went back today to where the 85 were found. Looked around much closer and found parts of a smashed up wooden box with a note that said "XXX* coke bottles" (a number). Picked up 10 more good bottles and found a number that were broken. So now I'm up to 95 unbroken.
*I'm withholding some info...
Took dog for a walk in the countryside. Found several tiny Coke bottles scattered about no more than 2" high and about the width of a nickel. Looks like someone dropped them or threw them out of a car. Some have markings on the bottom, for example one had a Diamond with a capital D. Don't think...
I was born in '53. When I was 11 my family moved to St. Catharines from outskirts of Pembroke. Personally I can't remember seeing that particular coke bottle. I do remember other non refundable soft drink products in my teens but I think they were a local bottling plant's stuff and cheaper than...
Hung around MacTier/Bala/Lake Joe areas as a teenager. If I ever get a chance to revisit and if I still have the bottles I'll be sure to contact you via this forum using private message.
Not sure if I'm doing this right but I hope the picture of the 3 bottles come through this time. Thanks to the respondents for their replies. Balsam Lake, a link in the Trent Waterways system, has been a tourist destination for many years. Most of the time I would find anchors, lures and things...
Cleaning up the basement I found 3 bottles I fished out of Balsam Lake near Lindsay Ontario nearly 20 years ago. As my username indicates, I am not a collector, just curious about the botttles' history and if they're worth anything to anybody. In my 60's now and for the life of me, I never saw...
