Hard to believe that all of these quart varieties have been added to my collectiom since December 26, 2020. What a year it has been. Three of these varieties I have the only known examples of. So proud of my collection. These range from as old as 1915 to the early 1930s.
On Sunday I went digging at a dump I have pretty much cleaned out. It has provided me with 23 local bottles after this most recent find, which was a huge surprise to me. I ended up digging in a spot under some thorn bushes that I tore up and found a milk bottle wedged between rocks, somehow...
My boss found this pickle jar bottle digging years ago. I figured it was from the 1890s or 1900s. Is it rare or anything special? I think the color is cool
Since I started bottle digging years ago, I've come across many pyroglaze / ACL bottles that have been wiped clean by the elements of nature. Always thought it was cool though that most bottles have a ghost label that stays on the bottle forever. This local one I found last night has a very...
If anyone has any bottles from Oil City or Vivian, LA, my friend is on the hunt for them and is wondering if anyone has any they would sell or trade him. He isn't looking for specific brands just bottles from towns in the Oil City / Vivian area. Thanks
About a week or two ago I went to the antique store and saw this never-before-seen A.S. Hosley milk bottle from Tupper Lake, NY. This makes it around 30 brands that have been confirmed to exist from my town, let alone around double that in varieties. I was so shocked to see this one for sale...
Got these two nice art-deco sodas from my town in the past week. The first one I got today and is a 1947, the other is a 1957 I picked up at an antique shop out of town. They don't quite fit the art-deco time-frame but certainly match the style. The third photo shows the Frenette Bros. side, the...
Well, the month of May was very good to me. I have added a whopping 32 Tupper Lake NY / Faust NY bottles to my collection, 29 of which being milk bottles. Many of them are extremely rare and varieties that I have never owned! The Franklin Dairy slug plates I never owned in the pint / quart...
A friend of my family found this awesome Altamont Milk Co. Slug plate from Tupper Lake the other day and gave it to me. Judging by the manufacturer and the other variants of Altamonts I have seen, this bottle is from 1923-28. Really beautiful deisgn that I have never seen before and am stoked to...
Got out for another dig today and managed to pull 3 local milks again and a patent 1908 Ball jar in blue color. This puts me to 7 local bottles dug in 2021! Haven't cleaned up the bottles yet, but the first one I dug I actually stepped on and almost fell when it rolled out of the dirt haha. Both...
Recently I have been exploring a lot and I circled back to an old dump I dug at a lot last year. I ended up finding FOUR Altamont Milk Co. Bottles from Tupper Lake, NY! That brings my Altamont count to 11 from that dump alone! Not only that, two of these are VERY RARE slug plate store bottles-...
This is a horrible picture of it but I picked up this ACL milk from my hometown yesterday. I wanna say the date code is a 1950 or 1952 despite how 70s this one looks. I have a dug quite a few but never had one of this variant with any ACL left. The other ones I dug have date codes of 50 and 52...
Saw these glass insulators still in service today. They are being used with primaries (electrical) even though they appear to be blue Hemingray 42s, which were made for telephone. But that was a common practice here back in the day. Very cool that these are still here because last I knew they...
I made my first trip to my bottle dump this year and found a broken bottle from Tupper Lake NY that was previously undiscovered. Unfortunately it is too broken to be fully identifiable, but there are no sodas or beers I have seen in this design in a 24 ounce variety. West End Brewing Co. is the...
2021 has been a great year for my local collection and it just got even better today. This 1963 Altamont Dairy quart bottle from Tupper Lake is something special. I was given this bottle earlier today. The pyroglaze is immaculate and I love the orange color. I have dug a lot of these from the...
Hutchinson bottles are really iconic in my opinion, so I was wondering, what's everyone's favorite hutch they own or wish to own? Share some pictures!
I have been thinking about my local hutches a lot lately, and I know I have posted them individually but I don't think I ever got a photo of the...
I recently traded for this nice milk bottle from a friend of mine that lives in Louisiana. This bottle isn't local to me or anything but it had some cool embossing and I have been getting some slug plate milks lately. Not the best photo but its a nice one.
Just got a new local bottle from Ebay, an 1890s Frank McCloskey blob top from Tupper Lake, N.Y. Its the second champagne style shaped McCloskey bottle I own, but I also have the matching hutch variant, and two partnership bottles (one with Lebouf and one with Isaac Merkel). The bottom photo...
