    What is this?

    I know it’s not a bottle, but I’m hoping you guys might have come across one of these before. It’s made out of wood and I’m assuming it’s from the 1900’s-1930’s since that is the dates of the bottles if found. Any ideas?

    im so new to this that the rare ones look the same as the common ones to me. Now that you brought it up, all of the other druggist bottles I’ve found don’t either.

    Is there a fix for brittle rubber?

    I found these two ink wells with in tact rubber. The darker colored one is extremely brittle and when I touch it, it crumbles. Is there something that will help?

    Thanks. I’m up to over 200 bottles so far. In only about a 30 foot ditch from a back hoe. I couldn’t imagine how many are actually here. I’ve always thought bottles were cool but never thought I’d ever find any. Turns out, I’ve found the jackpot in my back yard.

    The house isn’t very old. Everything I’ve found and been able to date is pre 1930. I’m somewhere over 200 bottles so far and I’ve only been in about 30 feet of ditch from a back hoe.

    Poison bottle

    I found another 20 bottles today in my back yard. I haven’t been able to dig around for a few months. Finding this poison bottle was a shock. And, of course, Any info you have would be great.

    Yes. I will definitely be careful. I’m the one that will bleach stain my shirt every time I touch bleach so if I use them I’ll definitely be careful.

    Thanks. So far, I don’t think I have any ones that bad off. All of these were either in the tidal water of a slough or dumped on ground that floods after the dike was built. I’m trying to figure out if the dike was built before or after these bottles were here.

    Yes it did. It’s definitely one that stands out. yes it did. It’s definitely a keeper. I have one listerine bottle that has a ring that is rust colored. Like where the water level was in the bottle. Pure crl and bar keepers didn’t touch it. Guess maybe muriatic acid?
