After work today I check out a lot in Detroit where they just tore down a old dilapidated house. As usuall I go straight to the back where the Bottles like to hang out. Found a few old Broken shards but them seen some funny looking ceramic looking square block in the dirt. Curious, I pick it up...
Weather was about 60 & Sunny today so poked around a old spot which is pretty much done, stick a fork in it. BUT, The probe was about 3 feet down when it felt like it hit a bottle. SO, I dug to end of probe & found this bottle. Bixby Mucilage shoe polish or ink. Patent 1883. Didn't find anything...

Found this on the Bottom of a amber Quart Blob Beer of mine. Mc C & Co. First Time I remember seeing one. research say's it's from 1870's, oh, and it does have a round slug plate. My Question is: does anybody have this makers mark on a Bottle or familiar with it? Leon.
Picked up this super rare Hutch, as far as I know, only known G. Norris Cobalt Blue Hutch with a tombstone slug plate? Anybody else ever see one before? The slug plate faint & hard to see. Leon.

Finally got out to try to dig some Privies. Probed a bunch of lots, dug many test holes, but only found one privy. in this one privy was lots of broken shards like amber quart blob & amber pint blob but no slug plate to identify them? many pieces with letters but not enough to identify, except...

Picked up a new Beer Bottle for the Collection. Probably dates to around 1900 & still Full (half full) of Beer. Anybody want to do a taste test? Out of my about 30 different Mt. Clemens Beer Bottles this one was a different variation I've been looking for. LEON.
