Welcome to the forum! Lots of information online about this stuff, which is surprising because based on the style of bottle I was expecting it to be quite an obscure product. Here are the labels for a somewhat newer bottle of theirs, explaining what it was:

Looks like this stuff was a legit medical product and not a quack remedy, it was mentioned in the Journal of the American Medical Association: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8735556/pdf/buffmedj139893-0022.pdf (That said, 18.5% alcohol seems pretty potent for a meal replacement, of all things!)

Thank you, my neighbor collected glass bottles his entire life and sadly passed away and now I have a very large collection. I’m hooked and love researching the bottles and the history
Lots of cleaning to do, just getting started
Thank you for your information and kindness
Liz :)
