It was windy here in Washington yesterday and that creates a fun day to look along the river shore line that gets pulled out. I found the two bottles and I am intrigued. First off it is so cool they were both made here in my town and second would love to have a idea of the age. I located other examples of Ver-Vac bottles with this same beautiful blue color and 6 1/2 oz on line, but they have a actual date on the bottom of the 1920's - this bottle has A G W 91-1 or if you flip it it would be 1 -16, but the A G W would be upside down.
The E R MIxon & Co has Washington NC and property of E R Mixon & Co and on the bottom says 9 OZ. So it is a nine ounce bottle. measured that too! The bill I found for E R Mixon was being offered on Ebay right now and it states that they were bottlers of Pepsi.
Any idea or suggestion of the dates of these bottles? I can't believe they were hiding right near my home for all these years and were not destroyed! So exciting.
I have found other bottles throughout the years, but none that were made in my town, so I love these. The blue color of the Ver-Vac is so stunning too as I had not seen that blue color before. I almost missed it as it was completely hidden except for a three inch side that made me pull it out of the sand.
Let me know how I can date these two bottles. Thank you.
