if you look under fruit jars zanes_antiques has one with the zinc tudor rose cap still attached.

Eagle lid and closure

Impressive!!! I would say it's going to be a long haul to find a totally original closure, But I may be mistaken. Are you lucky at poker?

is this a vase ?

The very first thing I look for on anything is the wear. Is there any wear on the bas of this vase. You can usually tell if you hold it to the light on an angle and look for a fuzzy ring around the base. the more scratches and frosty it looks the older it is usually. As far as I know anyhow.

well he did hold his baby out in front of a croc, can't deny that. I'll give him this he was as passionate about animals as I am about antiques

what a site! Very impressive to see all these bottle collectors. I'm so glad to have found it. I have just started collecting so, I'm learning something new every hour. Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time here.
