    THE ASHHOLE

It is amazing that someone would dig a hole that deep and then line it with brick or stone. It is hard to believe that someone would go through all of that trouble and they were built so well. We dug a brick liner by Detroit a few years ago, it was about 12 feet deep and very solid. I would...

    THE ASHHOLE

Nice hole. Seeing photos of the deep ones that you guys dig gives me encouragement to tackle a deep one up here once in a while. Most of what see around here are 5 to 6 foot wood liners. Sometimes we find woodliners that run 14 feet deep or more, that is when I get nervous.

    Still Crying!

Check out (drgomer.com) He does a really awesome job. He did some work for me last year and I was very happy and the price was very reasonable.

    Love those river dumps.

Great finds. I like the nautical stuff. I started diving about 5 years ago in and around the Great Lakes. I plan to do some bottle diving this summer. I have founds lots of junk that I have brought home. It is a great hobby. In Michigan you can not remove artifacts from the shipwreck...

this weeks privy goodies somewhat cleaned

Depending on how rare those bottles are, it might be a good idea to repair the broken one if you can find the top. I had a stoneware bottle repair job done by Dr. Gomer and he did a awesome job on my bottle. It was a good way to add a rare piece to my collection.

    River Finds

Hello Rick, Yeah he is not afraid to get dirty when it comes to finding stuff. He is just like me when I was 13. He actually started scuba diving with me when he was 11. He was privy digging with us before that. The quest for bottles and other junk/treasure is in his blood for sure. The...

    River Finds

Not sure why the photos posted are so large. I tried to make 3x3 inch and 150kb and they are huge. Anyway you get the idea.

    River Finds

Here are the two bottles cleaned up. The glass bottle is a Hires, it was found on the edge of the river in front of a 1800's dump. The dump is now a park that extends into the river. The low water level area is all glass and broken bottles and pottery. All blob tops here, might be good to...

    River Finds

Here is a photo of my son with his two bottles. We collect stoneware bottles from Bay City Michigan. He found one that we didn't have on the shelf. It was a 12 sided Beebe & Braddock. The stamp is not very good and the salt glaze is very heavy over it.

    River Finds

Every year our local river blows back out to the Saginaw Bay when we get a good strong wind from the South. Usually the water blows out a few times in the fall and with the low water level already, it gives us the chance to dig around in the mud flats down town. There is at least 2 miles of...

    American Digger Show

I watch the show because it gives me something to laugh at and complain about. Last night was the best show yet. I don't understand how artifacts can come out of a pit so nice and clean. Look at the soil that they were digging, it was all the same color. No ash, no rust, no clay, no wood, no...
