Every year our local river blows back out to the Saginaw Bay when we get a good strong wind from the South. Usually the water blows out a few times in the fall and with the low water level already, it gives us the chance to dig around in the mud flats down town. There is at least 2 miles of wide open shoreline to explore. Today my son found two pre-1900 bottles. We also found several artifacts from the logging days and other interesting artifacts. We only had about three hours before it got too dark to see. Next time we will park a mile down river and explore a different area to the North and there is more shoreline closer to the bay to check out, just not enough time in the day.
