I posted a bad pictuer the other day of an old bottle I found, (see One thing I didn't expect to find, this forum) and next to the old is a new one by the same company. Kinda cool I thought. Anyway, instructions say to rub on sore muscles. Smells like turpentine, though, so I won't be using any.
Thanks, Mike. I don't dig them to sell them or for any monitary value they may have. I dig, for the same reason I fish, because I wonder what's down there. Bottles are easier to clean though. Shelly
This is the other Orange Crush I found. Says Colorado Springs M and R on the bottom, and pat d July 20, 1920 Orange Crush Co. Bottle on the back. Not very pretty, but it's the only one like it I have.
The back of the JC says: Drink JC Justly Celebrated For All Occasions Contents 7 Fl. Oz. Sunshine Beverages, Inc. Albuquerque New Mexico. The front, under the large JC, says: Copyright 1940 The "J.C." Company, Inc., Topeka, Kansas.
The other is an Orange Crush.
The small bottle on the right, I found on top of the ground where the old Rail Road round house was, 100 years ago or so. It says: Dr. J.H. McLean Medicine Co. St. Louis, MO. The orange box on the left I bought a few days ago at the Dollar General Store. It's Dr. J. H. McLean's Volcanic Oil...
Okay, the tall skinny one in the middle, what does it say? I have one looks like that, say's MRS WINNSLOW'S SOOTHING SYRUP CURTIS AND PERKINS PROPRIETOR'S.
I have one like that, only different. Mine says Soda Water property of Coca Cola bottling company on the shoulder, and Iowa on the bottom. Will post pic if you'd like.
Your posts happen to be amoung my favorites, but they are also my least favorite. You see, I live in Northeastern New Mexico. Volcano country. Rocks, rocks, rocks. While there are a few community dumps, the magority of the people here were homesteaders, and they threw their trash behind the...
Not really a bad idea. Colman heaters aren't too expensive, and if you could keep two or three going all winter you might keep the ground diggable. If you try it, let us know if it works.
Thanks. I live in rock country, and most anything we find not broken is a good find. I just happen to like the blues, and the now-purples the best. I thank you for sharing.
