    Need help ID'ing Insulator

Can anyone help me with this insulator? I guess it's an insulator! The bottom is stamped Illinois 1948. It measures 5" high X 3.5" wide at the base. Could it be half of a multi-part insulator? I can't find anything similar in the reference books. Thanks

    Cut Off or Defect?

Thanks Jim, I never would have thought that could happen. It was in a batch of insulators I inherited. Ralph

    Cut Off or Defect?

Anyone ever see an insulator like this? Apparently it's a CD-147 with the top cut off. It's not only a clean slice but it's angled downward and kind of convex. Could it have came from the factory like this? Ralph

    Help ID an insulator

Can anyone help me with info on this insulator? It appears to be porcelain and is all black. There are no threads, just vertical grooves. It measures 3 1/8 x 3. Thanks, Ralph
