since its still too froze to dig up here I have been poking around yard sales and such and recently came across some old crocks and stoneware gallon jugs, the jugs have HD ROSE MONTROSE COLO on them and most of the crocks have WESTERN POTTERY MFG> DENVER COLO> on them except one 6 gallon that...

Thank you for the information, The color actually runs to an almost green color in the light but my camera skills are lacking ,the back ground is actually a piece of white cardboard with a desk lamp over it . I will leave it out on the porch and see what happens thanks again

sure enough, maybe they used opium on the mules ands burros to keep em calm on those steep mountain trails when they packed out the ore? or maybe it was the packers using the stuff any way the bottles were buried in several feet of livery "duff" with hundreds of shoes ,horse and man, gunstocks...

hey Warren, I dug out an old livery stable last summer and it was full of those bottles,I was told they were opium bottles but what the heck were they doing in a livery?

Thanks warren , they're nothing special except to the rich tourists and wealthy second home owners up here, the light blue hutch is supposedly worth 1500 bucks the others 100 to 300 too bad .I dont need the money . I would imagine alot has changed in Colo since you were here especially around Denver
