I have an Atlas E-Z Seal Quart, in cornflower blue, that has a freeze crack in the lip that extends thru the top ring. Does this completely kill this old jar? Is it worth listing on E-Bay?
Illinois Malleable Iron Co. of Chicago made a series of plow clevises. This was the Pin and Wrench out of one of these. Made in the late 1890's. Neat old find.
After reading all the bad luck stories with these bottles. If I ever dig one I'm gonna smash it with a shovel in the hole. No sense trying to get home with it.
Just to let you guys know, I got about six gallon of the little white styrofoam beads out ot a Spiderman Beanbag Chair I bought at a yard sale about a month ago. They are just the thing to show printed labels with. Mike
Lobeycat, Thanks for going to all your help. I think I'll hang on to it for a while, but you know it will end up on E-bay before Christmas. When I sell it I'll send 10% to this forum. Mike
Lobeycat, Thanks for fixing my pictures. I just got a new computer, and I'm like Dan Boone with a new Pontiac. I found this bottle at an Estate Sale of an elderly lady whose family ran a big dairy farm.
I just acquired this Odd Milk Bottle and can't find out anything about it. It says on the front "Thatcher Pryoglaze bottle, Fused Colors in Glass". The rear reads Salute to New Orleans 1718, 1937, New Orleans Dairy Industry Exposition. I assume it was given out at the Exposition to advertise...
A while back I asked about the Gold COCACOLA bottle. I found out they were given out to Distinguished Visiters, and Employees, probably at retirement, in the 1960s and 70's. The 6.5 Oz. bottle is more common. Mike
Thanks Guys, I think I'll hang on to it for a while until I learn why it was made. It seems to me that it is official because the ACL is perfect, and the gold seems like it was printed on. I wish I would have asked the old lady having the sale.
