Hi there. I dug a bottle many years ago from a c.1880 site. It is rectangular, aqua glass with PARE. MIRACULOUS WORM KILLER. BIRMINGHAM embossed on three sides, with label space on the fourth side. Its about a 1oz or 2oz size....... Somebody mentioned it could be from the US...

WHAT IS THIS BOTTLE?

It looks typically Australian. Never heard of a 7oz example though.... Graduated sizes in poisons usually go 6oz then 8oz.

I have heard this type of glass/colour described as 'slag glass', i half expected this to glow under UV but it doesnt. It does glow a fiery orange up against the sunlight though. the effect can be seen in this pic. Heres another similar one in the collection.

Thanks for the comments. I believe these were just anomoles caused by the use of contaminated and/or improperly mixed (rejected) glass, maybe at the end of a shift or something ? There is a thread on this site detailing the ingredients required for different colours, it seems that the red...
