Found a large interesting jar yesterday at a yard sale. I am strictly a fruit jar collector but couldn't pass this one up. It is clear glass with thousands of tiny seed bubbles, thick ground lip, 10.25" tall and 5.00" wide, rounded-square shape and about as heavy as a red brick. It is strongly...
Ok jar people, here's one I've never heard of before (Not my auction, just very curious)
Ebay item # 250644066349
Tall narrow Lightning-style jar with round slug plate embossing. Nobody can seem to read the name on the jar. It is a ground lip sterilized milk jar with Putnam 255 on base...
I picked up a jar today that I can't seem to locate in Red Book #10. It is an aqua widemouth quart (ground lip) with a very pronounced slug plate circle embossed on one side & a very readable ghosted LEOTRIC on the other side. Base embossed Reg.TM. NO 43288 with mold number 11.
Any jar...
Any Insulator collectors here? Check out ebay item #120448220837. Blue threadless sold for $7,700.00. That must be one heck of an Insulator!! Congrats to the seller & also the buyer.
I have a question concerning a zinc lid that I have had for many years. I found it in a box lot of lids that I had purchased at an auction. The first photo shows the normal type of lid with the lettering stamped/debossed into the surface of the lid. The second photo is of the lid in question...
My apologies for all the single posts. I'm still pretty much a noob at all this. I finally figured out how to post pics here & from now on, I will show multiple jars in the same post.
This is one of the most beautiful jars in my collection. Very nice color & thousands of seed bubbles.
I'll try & get a better pic of this jar. I've never seen a jar that has so many seed bubbles as this one does.
Hi. Was wondering if anyone knows when the "Midget" style fruit jars were last produced. Not any particular jar, just that type of jar in general. I'm just curious as to the timeline that these jars were produced & when/why they vanished. There are alot of them out there, so for a brief moment...
Came across this ebay auction tonight ( item # 250433501095). Very unusual looking Mason's "Cross" jar. The thing looks huge. A smooth lip bead seal is listed in RB10 for a dk.green pint, in the reproduction section, but no listing for this jar. Is this another new reproduction jar being produced??
As I am new to this forum, I would like to show a few good finds that I have made over the past few years. Found this jar at a flea market. One of those booths that had so much clutter you couldn't see the jar while just walking by. Covered with dust & no price on it. Asked the older gentleman...
Hello jar collectors. I have a question concerning an aqua glass lid that I dug many years ago. The lid is the typical size/shape for mason jars with the "improved" type closure. The center of the lid is embossed with a crescent moon & star, identical to the zinc lid & jar markings for RB9 #...
