Found this one at a farm auction about 10 years ago. "MASON.S R (backwards) PATENT NOV.30 1858
Base embossed "L&W"

WoW! This is another great looking jar. I saw your VanVliet so I guess you collect jars. Do you collect any other bottles? Thanks for sharing the pic. Paul

I used to collect all types of bottles, but in the mid '80's I decided to focus my collecting habits strictly on fruit jars. I sold/traded off all the bottles & have never looked back. I was actually out of the hobby for the last 10 years. My jars had been packed away over that time & just within the past few months I decided to open up the boxes. What a blast it was going through approx. 300 jars, alot of them I had completely forgotten about. They are all cleaned up & dispayed now. [:)]
