Had my first experience digging for bottles in a tidal mudflat with coldwater diver last week. Only found one intact bottle and it is a tiny 1-1/4" flask, looks like a perfume or sample bottle with a checkered pattern in the glass. Also recovered a marble, Victorian Brooch and two early necks...
I had a decent year of river diving for bottles, I found my usual assortment of clay pipes, marbles, coins and ammo. But this year netted some new bottles for me. Most notably I finally recovered a Warner's,
a Drakes (6-log) a couple of local druggists and a beautiful Master Ink.
This is my button find of the year while lake/river diving in NH for Bottles.
It is a Civil War era mass militia cuff button in horrible shape but still in my collection!
Hi fellow diggers and divers, I scored this aqua beauty on my last dive of the season and to think it was just laying on the bottom, no digging required. I would love to tell you the name on the bottle and I'm sure someone here will recognize it but I'm just uploading the pics. I know it is a...
Hi fellow collectors, my collection of river bottom (dug) bottles is up for grabs, obviously if you are in New England or NH you can come and paw through it all, otherwise pm me with your desires and I will see what I have. Many inkwells, several masters, beers, sodas and meds some pontiled...
I went diving yesterday and recovered this nice small aqua barrel ink with a minor lip chip and a nice round front panel. During the dive I also recovered a holed 186? 2 cent piece and a 1923 Canadian penny. There was a bunch of other stuff like clad coins, marbles and 2 rings but these are my...
I had a much better day yesterday in the silver area with an 1861 SLQ, an 1840 SLD an 1862 IH fatty and an 1866 Shield nickel. Also got one pipe bowl, some stems, 2 scrapers, some marbles, some clad coins, a perfume and an ink.
Finally got back in the water after a month of heavy rains and flooded dive sites. I found my second civil war token while looking for bottles and a large gilded B & M RR coat button. The civil war token has Army and Navy on one side with an anchor and crossed cutlasses and on the other side has...
I have 2 more dives under my weight belt this year and I finally found some glass.
1. E. Hartshorn and Sons Boston Mass
2. P.J. Noyes Manufacturer Lancaster, NH
I also recovered more pipes, marbles, 4 more CW buttons and a beauty of a 1900 Barber Half.
I went back to the dive spot where I found the 1875 SLQ and CW Infantry button 2 weeks ago and found a beautiful 1900 Barber Half and 3 more CW Infantry buttons and 1-CW Arillery button plus several other colonial buttons and pipes, marbles, bullets etc...
Not a detecting find, but an eyeball find while scuba diving for bottles...I was mumbling to myself underwater as to why I often recover early copper coins but rarely silver ones when this little beauty flipped up in front of me. After confirming the type and date I uncovered a Union Infantry...
Pickens have been slim for bottles while I adjust to my new mask (fogging/flooding), I have found more coins than bottles to include an 1875 Seated Liberty Quarter and two IH pennies dated 1860 and 1907.
Dives 3 & 4 produced a strap sided flask (not shown), an aqua unbrella ink and a crown...
I received this bottle recently and have come up empty in my research, I even forwarded it to earlyglass and heard nothing. It is green, handblown (modern) and comes with a provenance card. I even researched the town it comes from and came up empty.
I found all of these in an old house while appraising a rather scattered bottle collection for some friends.
There are 2 bears, a Lincoln, a lucky Jumbo Elephant and a Luck Joe Nash's Mustard, all have their lids and are in dusty but otherwise great condition and for sale as a group.
