What is it ?
from the label, Spiritus Vini 85... Spiritus means alcohol 85 would be the percentage of alcohol in it. I'd say, it was for rubbing alcohol. -

Found a stoneware jug...
looks similar. This one is full white, with a screw in stopper (still in it) and it doesn't have the sicle brand on it. Fits snugly into it's basket, too. I guess he was told the wrong thing when he was told it held arsnic... Still. No idea how much it would be worth? Not that he is looking to... -

A friend of mine is after some info about a stoneware jug/bottle he found in a shearing shed. It is in good condition, with a screw-top stoneware stopper, and it is in a cane basket. It has Cuming Smitt and Co Melbourne stamped into the top of the jug. All he was told is that it was used to hold...
