    UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII DAIRY

South Dakota State College, which is now known as South Dakota State University, issued a handful of embossed milks and an ACL example. All are quite difficult to find.

New to the Morbious Fod collection II: Electric Boogaloo

Congrats on finding the Dream bottle, always great to find a new local bottle. The ones I have seen are usually chewed up with case wear, it's nice to see a clean example. I wonder if your bottler used the 6 1/2 ounce size at some point, too. The 2 bottlers in my collecting region that...

    St.Cloud Bottling Works Quart Hutch

I don't positively know that your bottle is from St. Cloud, MN, but if it is there's a good chance it's a pretty decent bottle. There are very few bottlers who used quart Hutches from states like Iowa, Minnesota and both of the Dakotas. I pay attention to sodas from these states, but the one...

    "Catering Co." Embossed Soda

Wow, that sure is an interesting business combination!

    "Catering Co." Embossed Soda

Hello everyone, I recently obtained a neat embossed soda from Sac City Catering Co. of Sac City, Iowa. I first saw a badly damaged example of this bottle about 10-12 years ago and finally got a decent one. This bottle was produced by Root Glass Co. and dated 1919, and it is the deep aqua/green...

    South Dakota Bottles Wanted

Just wanted to give my post a bump, does anyone have any South Dakota or Dakota Territory bottles to part with? I have many excellent bottles from other states for trading. Contact me at prairiedigger@gmail.com if interested.

Milk Bottles from almost all 50 States

Hey bottlebadger, Did you come across any milk bottles from South Dakota or Iowa? Please let me know if you did, I'm always looking for ones from these states that I don't have yet.

Crown Cork & Seal Co. Sample Bottle?

Hello again SPBob, the exact wording on the bottle is THE CROWN CORK & SEAL CO., BALTIMORE, U.S.A. There are 2 different fonts used, the lettering for "The Crown" embossing is just a little different than the rest. Perhaps this was done to make the name of the closure it featured stand out...

Crown Cork & Seal Co. Sample Bottle?

Hi sodapopbob, I have the same theory about the use of this little bottle as you do. Almost as soon as I spotted it I was curious to who might have made it, but unfortunately there is not 1 number or letter on the base or heel. It definitely is not machine made though, and I feel that it just...

Crown Cork & Seal Co. Sample Bottle?

Hey cyberdigger, that is also an awesome little bottle! I've never seen or heard of one of those until now. Thanks for sharing the picture, it must look great with standard blob sodas and beers. Lastmanstanding

    Kansas Dose Glass

Today I picked up an interesting out of state dose glass. It is a standard shaped glass in the larger or 2 tablespoon size, and is marked W. W. GAVITT'S MEDICAL CO., TOPEKA, KANS. U. S. A., and has no base markings. I noticed a fairly recent post on here about dose glasses with a very...

Crown Cork & Seal Co. Sample Bottle?

Hello everyone, I happened upon an unusual "soda" bottle this morning. It is clear and approximately 3 and a half inches high, reading THE CROWN CORK & SEAL CO., BALTIMORE, U.S.A. It is not a machine made crown top bottle. A very brief internet search led me to this page...

1915 Spirit Lake, IA Coca-Cola Bottle

Hi Bob, thanks again for the great information. My Spirit Lake bottle is not perfect, it has very clean glass for a dug bottle but it does have some damage to the base. On display it doesn't look bad at all, so I feel fortunate about that. I just might pursue getting a copy of Porter's book...

1915 Spirit Lake, IA Coca-Cola Bottle

Hi Bob, thanks for the quick reply to my post. I know quite a bit about the bottling history in that town, and from what I understand there isn't much of a window that the plant would have used 1915 bottles before 1923 bottles began to replace them. Again, thanks for the great information...

1915 Spirit Lake, IA Coca-Cola Bottle

Hello all, a few months ago I dug and brought home a few 1923 and 1915 Coca-Colas. It was a first for me to see a 1915 from Spirit Lake, IA. I do not have access to Porter's Coca-Cola book of my own, but I was told that there was not a 1915 listed from that city. Does anyone know for sure...

    Quart Size Embossed Orange Crush

Thanks everyone for the information, that ACL Orange Crush bottle sure is neat. Morbious, I should have clarified that my bottle is actually a 24 ounce size. There are few bottles from my home state that range between 24 and 32 ounces, so I often refer to them collectively as "quarts."

    Quart Size Embossed Orange Crush

Hello all, I recently brought home an embossed quart size Orange Crush bottle found locally. I am terrible with a camera, but it is exactly like a standard sized, clear glass Orange Crush with the July 20, 1920 patent date. It is virtually mint and looks like it must have been used one time...

    South Dakota Bottles Wanted

It's been a little while since I have heard of anyone, anywhere digging any of the Deadwood Hutches recently. I pay close attention to anything I hear about people finding bottles from that area, it's only a matter of time before a few are dug some place.

Wanted: Yankton, South Dakota Coca-Cola Hobbleskirt Bottle

Hello all, I am very interested in acquiring a Coca-Cola bottle from Yankton, South Dakota. From what I understand, the only style issued from this town is a 1915 patent version. If anyone out there has one to spare, please let me know.

sometimes you end up winning something you didn't expect to win

That is a very nice looking calendar plate, I like its motto also. I have a large collection of calendar plates from SD towns, but never seen one from Interior before. Great find.
