digging frozen ground ideas?
i should know better than to torture my self by checking in active construction sites while the ground is frozen. once again ive found my self staring at a cracked open privy frozen solid. sometimes if you can get the top few inches up you can get to digable ground below the frozen crust but...- pearcouch

1830's puce bottle. identify?
we dug this a few days ago in an nyc pit with mostly late 1840's - early 50's stuff. anyone ever seen one or have a guess as to what it might have been used for? sticky ball pontil, about 5 in. tall.- pearcouch
