I just saw a Tampa FLA S-S bottle and I was wondering what would be a fair price to pay. It was in a small shop that has lots of stuff, and I may make an offer on several bottles. First, is real, and 2nd what would be fair? There was a few other S-S there as well.
Cheers, Merry Christmas, and...
Back in the early 1970's my family moved from a large city (state Capital) to a tiny small town (less than 600). Those first years I was incredibly bored out of my mind with absolutly nothing to do, cause girls were icky at that time, but that's another story. I had an array of dangerous country...
Here is a nice little uncleaned Sanford's ink bottle and base. On the four sides of the base it says " Sanford's Foutain Pens Ink " The metal cap says "Sanford's Ink" The bottle was originally glued in with plaster paris back in the day. I do not know when this was in use.

While I agree that paypal has some faults, it is well worth all the hassles that come with using this kind of medium for transactions. Instant monies, so I can ship the items right away is so much better than waiting a week for the M.O. or check, then trundeling down to the bank to make sure it...

I have owned this one for quite some time. In the early days of research, this was referred to as a "Womans Suffrage bottle, or a Carrie Nation Bottle" and was so listed in several books. Now in the day of the moderen intranet, I can find an example of this bottle on display at the Brooklyn...
I almost always stayed away from bottles that had any type of threads for the cap. But once in awhile, a bottle comes along that is not real old and it just sings to you.... *sigh*
I would guess from the late 1930's to the mid 1940's
This is a box of bar back bottles that I recieved as a "equalizer" in a trade I just accomplished. By far the low end of the trade, I decieded to do a bit of research so I can sell 'em off on Ebay. Then I found this web site, and I am re-visting old intrests and treasures. My bottles are on...
This is a neat figural bottle that was found at the family homestead, when they were tearing it down back in the early 1970's. It was the "Queen" of my collection, untill the LBJ showed up.
An additional piece of puzzle to this story is this, back in about 1974, I saw one of these bottles, empty, owned by a local dealer, and the bottle dealer said just that, that they were dug up at the ranch by phone / construction workers. So they could have been in the ground for about 10 years...
These were used as water carafes at a few Mexican resturants back in the late 1980's and early 1990's, Fort Worth / Dallas. I equate this type of glass to the type that was coming out of Mexico back in the day.
Cheers
