Hi Jeanie,
I have the same bottle as you do, it is indeed a cod liver oil bottle, McKesson Laboratories. They date to the 1920's - 1930's. I know this post is old, so I hope you see it!
Here's a link with a few other great bottles as well as the cod liver oil bottle.
Digger Odell...
Hey now, those may not be the oldest bottles but they're still kinda neat!
Even if they are just 40's bottles, thats still 60+ years old. Thats not that shabby for a bottle. I have a bottle dump on my property from about 1920 to 1960, and there are actually some neat bottles down there...
Thats pretty neat, much more defined than the ones I've found. The ones I've picked up have a nice amount of wear, and even small indentions, but not as deep as that. Nice buy!
Pretty! Gaudy, but hey, its still interesting to look at. You're lucky!
I believe I may have found a piece of turquoise today, if thats what it really is, it'd be nice to set it in a silver ring setting.
I wouldn't mind finding more [;)]
Hi Woody,
Thanks for your reply. I don't believe its a repro, its got the Owens-Illionis glass mark on the base of the bottle and Duraglass, 53 on the bottom. On one side of the bottle, it says "The Amber bottle better protects the fine flavor and vitamin content of this quality product."...
Hi everyone.
I have a brown Blue Ribbon bottle. I tried searching on the Internet but I can't find anything. Does anyone know anything about these? I make it to be from about the 40's or so, but does anyone know if these are less common than the clear ones? Value, if there is any?
Thanks...
