    any ideas about this bottle

Found 10's if not 100's of these bottles at a dig site that contained household items exclusively. I have a few that have fragments of the label, but I couldn't decipher any of the wording. I can say that the label appeared to have different shades of blue (from dark blue to baby blue), with...

    help with bottle makers mark

I have what I believe to be a wine bottle from the 1940's (based on other bottles found at same dig site), but having trouble identifying the bottle makers mark. I searched the internet and all the usual sites that have makers mark symbols, but coming up empty. So I scanned the bottom of the...

    Old bottle, same old questions

Found a bottle while shoveling and it has a few features that I'd throw to someone else for help. The internet couldn't solve my answers. First, it's a clear bottle (looks to be 4/5 quart, but doesn't say so) with no screw top; must have had cork. Second, it has the obligatory...

    Have you seen me?

Please find attached a picture of a bottle I'm trying to identify. The bottle was one of several (7-8 in all) that were recovered from a dump pit used by an abandoned merchant shop. This pit was clearly devoted to containers that held everyday household items (e.g. cosmetics, food, hygiene...

    Mountain Dew Ya-hooo! Phrase

From my collection of Mt Dew bottles, it seems that 1973 was the transition year for the classic "ya-hooo!" phrase. I say this because I have some 1973's with and without the phrase as part of the ACL label. That being said (and please correct me if I'm wrong), I'm wondering about the bottle...

    Help with bottle art

So I've got an amber whiskey bottle from the post prohibition era and it has an embossed/raised image just below the neck. It looks to be a french horn, but beyond that it's anyone's guess. The distiller is D-126 (Seagrams/Calvert). Anyone see this image before?

Sorry, one last time; book suggestion

Can anyone recommend a good book(s) that cover post prohibition whiskey bottles? What's out there, pics to support, dating, etc.

    related to my previous post

Besides Seagrams, does anyone know what other whiskey's were produced at the Seagrams plant during the post-prohibition period. Assuming D-126 is indeed Seagrams.

    Distillery D-126

Can anyone confirm that distillery D-126 that operated during the post prohibition period is Seagrams. On a related note, I know that the single malt crowd in Europe has a list of all the distilleries, and their code, that one can reference. Anyone know of such a list for US post prohibition...
