Alright, awesome [:D]. I just wanted to be sure I don't damage something I'll probably never dig up again. As you can tell, this is my first time trying to clean something like this x.x . I'll give it a try on a few spots for now and I'll toss up an update at some point. Thanks again everyone! [:)]
Been a while since I've posted much but with the cold setting in as well as the boredom, I was wondering, is there any way of getting rust off of something like this without damaging it? Should I bother cleaning this just simply because of the risk of damage? Any opinion is appreciated, I've...
That's great! =) I'm glad to hear ya believe it's a real one. She paid less than $1 for it, and it is amber colored. I honestly just wasn't sure if it was a more recent glassblowing project because the sides looked so new. Have you seen any pictures like this one around online? Thank you all for...
I kinda thought it may be a bit new looking to be anything of any value but I don't know a whole lot about bottles before 1880-1900. Anyway, it has a pontil on the bottom of it and it looks like it is the same style of bottle making as I'm used to seeing in older ones. I just think the condition...
I was searching random bottles from my state (New Hampshire) on E-bay and I came upon this "RARE" one...apparently I've gotta tell my cousin because he's got a few of theses...actually, so do I! [:D] [;)]...
Wow...I'm really sorry for your loss...He seemed like such a nice guy for the short time I had been on the site to know him. He was the one to create a post especially to wish me a happy birthday, having just started on the forum a couple of weeks before-hand. Just goes to show how much he must...
Wow, It's hard to compete with a bunch of these finds... I had to make a real hard decision on this one since most of my bottle digging has been done this year! [:@]. I had to choose three out of the lot x.x . My #1 : Nothin' beats a big pair of jugs! ;). Never forget that crazy cellar hole my...
Oh wow, thank you very much. I didn't think anyone would notice haha [:D]. Actually I got my first hutch the day before my birthday, and the day of I won $500 on scratch ticket! lol was a pretty good one I'd say :-).
Hopefully I'll have some more glass to share next weekend, as long as my...
It's a bit tough to see in the picture, but yeah it's aqua. I was just surprised, after viewing your pics of your hutches, to find one myself so close to home [:D].
Thanks guys =). This was the first hint I've had of finding a hutch at all so far. Usually I'll dig up the bottom of something...
Started this morning with the plan to go digging bright and early, be there by 7 - 7:30 the latest.. Ended up getting stuck doing things until about 2:00 this afternoon x.x .. I decided, screw it, I might as well give it a go anyway, and I'm glad I did! =) I ended up with a few keepers today...
Thanks guys =). It was one of those cases where it just kinda fell into my hand [:D]. I can't wait until I find one of those local hutches.. I know there's gotta be a few of em kickin' around!
This may be more common than I'm hoping but I haven't been able to find any online. I was only able to find out a bit of information over Google describing the bottle, and the contents, (Ginger ale).
I dug this blob top "Aetna Bottling Co Concord, NH"...
(Just showing the clasp and size...
