If you look at the trade ads I posted a couple pages back, the July 1952 ad is the first to list 1015 S Washington St, Peoria IL as the address for the "O-So Grape Company". Before that it was 1931 W 3rd St, Chicago
Not related to conover, but this 1965 trademark renewal shows that they eventually changed the corporate name from the o-so grape company to bubble up corporation:

Has some date details in it too...

Sodabob, great posts with all the directory stuff! Definitely confirms a few things!
I have a "saved search" for both "frostie" and "catonsville bottling" on ebay that I have been checking almost daily for almost a decade now. If a paper label bottle or any other early catonsville bottles show...
I don't think you are ever going to find "Frostie" being advertised / in phone books as being bottled in 1943. It was still just "Old Fashion" in commercial production at that time.
Remember the Frostie trademark documents? "In commerce - April, 1946 (August 25, 1944 AS TO "Frostie")". The other...
Forgot about this one...
Comes from an archived ebay auction (https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-root-beer-bottle-476430857). Though there is no picture, the seller states the bottom says: 7425-3B46 which should mean 1946.
I find this one interesting because if you look at the...
Hopefully some day a paper label version of that slick side bottle shows up so we can see what was really on it! Like the main bottle that inspired this thread, there's gotta be one sitting in someones walls :)
The creator of this thread did send me a couple shots of the bottom of the "Old...
Here's something interesting... Looks like George Rackensperger worked for the "Caton Spring Water Co"in 1936
This is from the 1936 issue of the "Proceedings of the 54th Annual Meeting of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association" by the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association
Sodabob,
Great aerial and maps!!! I too remember hearing about the basement location thing somewhere. The one site that was found with the family history that included some Rackensperger stuff stated:
"Inside they set up bottling equipment and conveyor belts. The judge's benches served as the...
Not that it helps with the early history timeline, but I found the existence of three photographs of the "new" Catonsville bottling plant from 1946 here:

Unfortunately they are not viewable online so I am submitting a...
By “earlier product” I meant just “old fashion” root beer without the Frostie name.
I see what you are saying in that there is absolutely no reference or proof to even just the “old fashion” existing in the early years though. The hunt continues! I’d like to believe the accepted overall history...
