need info on amber pontil please (pictures)

Hi, Yep strapsides are "newer", turn of the century. At one time i had 26 different strapsides from Washington DC . Some of the embossed straps sale very well. I sold five of the DC flasks on ebay, and they went for over $700, which wasnt to shabby for a couple days "work". Richie[:)]

Is this a fruit jar lid?

Hi Jerry and Tammy, TY for the replies. Ah, Tammy, i'm looking in the red book now, and i'd say you called it! Wow, these come in cornflower and emerald also. I had no clue...The columbia lid measures right at 3 inches across, and the amber measures in at 3 3/4's. So this would be the small...

    my dad's collection for sale

Hi debodun, TY for the reply. The insulator with the MAY 22 1894 and the No. 15 on it, is a CD287. Its a blotted out F.M. Locke piece. How bad is the crack in this one? This piece in VNM condition has a value in the $10-$15 range. The porcelain thingy sounds like it might be an insulator...

Help with some more bottles please (pictures)

Hi Junkortreasure, I'll take a stab at these. I believe the 3 larger ones in the back may be ammonia or vinegar bottles, the west end bottles appear to be a beer, i see an ink, maybe a shoe blackening, and possibly a couple little medicines or perfume's. For the most part appear to be 1930's...

Is this a fruit jar lid?

Something else I dug a couple years ago and never really knew what it was. The PATENTED COLUMBIA top is just for size comparison. What do you think, fruit jar lid? And if it is, which jar do you think it might have belonged to? Thanks for your time, Richie[:)]

    Not a bottle, but....

Hi Everyone, This is one of my most favorite possesions. Its known as a CD1000 Glass block and dates from the mid to late 1840's. Somewhere between a deep 7-up, emerald, yellow green color. Its actually one of the very first styles of insulators to be used. The slot in the top would have been...

Hi Gidday, Thank you very much for the lead, appreciate it. I will take a look. Also, just out of curiosity, what price range are the Jules Hauel lids? If they are not too much, I might be able to find a mate for the base. Thanks, Richie[:)]

    Jules Hauel No.120 Chesnut St....

Hi Everyone, Here's a pot lid base that I dug a couple years in alexandria virginia . I did a little searching online and found this base dates somewhere between 1839-1851. I believe in 1851 Mr. Hauel moved to 170 Chestnut St where he opened a large place of business. I guess my question is...

Couple amber cokes I dug last year...

Here's two cokes i dug last year. The coke on the left is a light-med amber shade with "Registered" embossed right below the shoulder, and the other is the "typical" dark amber. Interesting to note that I only dug two of the lighter amber with Registered, and the other was damaged. The are both...
