i dug many of these. some are smooth base,others have a pontil. it was hard to get a decent pic of this one. it is about 3in. tall and has german writing wrapped around it. it reads" DIE KEISSERLICHE PRIVILEGERT ALTONATICHE W. KRONESSENTS" ANY IDEAS?

that site is long gone. it was huge. there were 2 football field sized pits. i saw dozens of diggers out there. must have been 1000's of bottles dug. i think everyone got a warners.
thanks for the info. these were actually dug in a dump in san jose. the dump ranges from 1850's to 1940's. i dug 4 or 5 broken congress springs and was really happy to finally get a whole one.
i dug several mineral waters a few months ago. 2 are embossed "agua de rubinat condal" i think its a mineral water from spain? also found a pacific congress springs from saratoga california. its a crown top and can't seem to find anything about it.
a good friend of mine has dug a few of these. i had always wanted. we hit a good dump that finally gave one up. in fact it gave up many. i was lucky to get a base that fits as well.
