I live in Brooklyn at the moment and walk the beach almost every weekend. I love it, and the regulars are a joy. Dont think I’ve found a bottle older then the 20s. Most stuff sits between 40s-60s. lots of fun odds and ends, my favorite being this doorknob. Glass stoppers and marbles too.
I have a bunch of these that I pulled out of the water, from a coastal dumpsite, they're pretty stained and grungy. Wondering if yall have any tips? Including a picture of what I mean. (not my picture tho, pulled off of ebay)
Have you ever left something behind at a dig, creekwalk, mudlark, etc, that you later regretted? Didn't know what you had or didn't think it was worth lugging back? Or something at a swap you passed by?
Just curious :P
This weekend I made another run out to the woods/shore to do some digging and mudlarking. Had to take two busses and thanks to all the excellent advice my latest trip was so much smoother! Didn't break anything or make a mess on the way home :P Sending yall my thanks!!!
Looks like my partner has figured this one out! The brand at least, they figured out the writing is 'Eau De Fleurs Concentree LEONID DE LESCINSKIS'
Attached is the brand in question, we're still looking, trying to date the bottle :)
Yeah we assume 'eau de-' and then 'Solide' but it might have another letter 'Solide-'
Looks like 'Concentree' on the bottom, which is concentrated in french.
There is some script in in the center, two words, the first might be 'Lionel' but I'm really not sure.
Hi I'm Cano, Just recently moved to NYC from Florida. I collect antique tins, old Florida ephemera and stamps. Always been interested in bottles from afar, want to get into it. Always looking to learn more, can't wait to visit FL and see what I can find out there. Cheers!
