I'm still shocked to find the people through bottles, glass bottles out. I would think that would be something to keep because you can reuse them yes I learned.
I have found similar. Strangely the man who designed the jar lid that two metal straps clamp to lived in my town when the idea came to him. And because of that I am digging around where his workshop used to be in the 1800s that just happens to be where the police station is today my luck.
No cure. I found a dump site 2 years ago. Today I still go out and dig. It's now over a mile and a half long. Snow fr last year collapsed a new section that appears to be about 75 years older than the last.
I love finding old bottles from area stores and companies with logos as well as funny phrases not used today. Found this one recently in western new York have some research to do to know more.
Now the frozen ground has let mor slide down the hillside there will be more to come.
I have to say I've found marbles, porcelain dolls,prices of a pocket watch. Also bones (animal) lots of shoe and tons of plated silver wear

Questions I have to ask somebody as well I might use loctite glass glue it's a two-part epoxy was supposed to work really well on glass but I don't know what it looks like when it's done

Being new to collecting old bottles is there a source for information on our finds?
I have done a little research into markings on bottles because of an old abandoned house in town that a friend found pretty cool bottles in we needed to know how old they were and what they were for.
