Hi, Yeah, thanks for that - Alan currently has the bottle. He has told us that he' s certain it' s a fake. We' re waiting for him to send it back to us with some of the black removed (we tried, but obviously weren' t aggressive enough in our attempts) I post more info here when I have it...

OK, There were 13 bottles in the box. As far as I can tell from my novice research they all date from 1870(ish) to 1900(ish) but the range may be narrower. I' ve identified a few of them, but here' s another I' m having trouble with... Dark green ginger beer (?) bottle with bubbles and...

IRISH, Thanks ! Until yesterday I didn' t really know much about bottles at all. I' ve spent the last 24 hours trawling all the online resources for information, but I' ve been unable to find anything like this one. It came in a box of old bottles from a house clearance sale in the UK...
