I'm thinking I should have purchased this, but not sure. Not that the Ayer's Pepsi guide is the end authority, but I didn't see any Patio paper label bottles listed in it. Is this a rarer bottle, and is it worth the $2-3 for it?

I don't collect sodas at all, but vaguely remember someone saying Patio bottles are somewhat rare/valuable... I'd say for $2 you can't go wrong. Hopefully someone else will agree with me...

I have collected a few of the Patio diet sodas because they were only produced for about one year(1963 to 1964) it then became diet pepsi (see link). the other flavors lasted from 1963 to the very early 70's before being phased out. The paper labels may be worth holding onto if in really good shape. Ive passed on paper labels in the past because they were not in very good shape. Dont think they made a paper label of the patio diet. Do you know if the paper label you are looking at has a date code on the bottom. I would be currious to see if they was released towards the 1969 to 1970 time frame while they were being phased out

I looked at the bottom, but now I can't remember. I was thinking it was dated 71, but my memory fades...I think I'll go get it tomorrow, if it's still there.

Patio was The Pepsi Company version of Fanta, they had all kind of flavors, Orange, Grape, Ginger Ale, Root Beer, plus more. The caps showed the flavor of the drink. The returnable bottles did not show a flavor printed on the bottle (Except for the Patio Diet Cola), just the cap would show the flavor. From your paper label it looks like they did the same thing with non-returnable Patio, the cap would show the flavor only.
