My husband's grandmother had an old crate of bottles in her garage that we've now inherited. There are 21 embossed Soda Water bottles - from my preliminary research, here is what I *think* I've figured out so far:
1. Clear green glass with four sides and 6 stars. 'property of coca cola bottling co, con 10 fl oz'
2. Bottled at Memphis Bottling Co.
3. Made by Graham Glass Co (G29 3576E)
4. JM Lents filed a patent (Des 70,281) that was issued on June 1 1926
In the crate were 3 'Wilson's' bottles. These are smooth and straight bottled, with 5 embossed stars. Wilson's is embossed on the front and bottom. I think these were patented by CJ Root on Oct 23, 1923 (Des 63,198). I can't really figure these out - based on the fact that these were stored in a crate in Memphis Tx for almost 100 years, I think they were bottled at the same plant as the others. However, the only record of Wilson's I've been able to find is out of Canada. This one is also embossed with 'property of coca cola bottling co, con 9 flu ozs.' Faintly you can see embossed 'ROOT' '27' and '39B' on the bottom.
I would love to learn more about these bottles, and would like to know if they are worth anything.
Best,
Laura
