ive had this slaggish hobnail glass for about 30 years...I have shown it to some dealers over the years and some said 100% its a lightning rod ball and some said NOT!!!..Im new to this forum so thank you in advance for your help...Andy
That isn't a known pattern in lightning rod balls, so I'd say it's most likely a lamp part.
thank you for your help
Second vote for lamp part. Pretty piece of glass either way.
Beautiful hobnail piece of glass, regardless.
thank you for your replies...Andy
Based on the swirled colors, the shape, the hobnail pattern, and the rough ends, I'd estimate this to be from a 1960s table-lamp.
I got a Hobnail Tivoli Soda Bottle from the 1920's.
I have seen crazy prices for little poisons and this could be a home run.
Nice bottles Otto, love the 10 pin shape, likely because they are a flattened off torpedo. I have several in my collection, they are not that common around here with I think 10-12 different ones....
What sort of information are you looking for? They are listed as scarce on www.hutchbook.com, but I know I have seen a couple over the years, so probably not real scarce. One sold on eBay for $76...
Starting to think it may be a 26....?
embe thanks for sharing! So I'm seeing your bottle is from Dominion glass, with a 9 for 1949 and a month code F for Nov/Dec, we now have 8oz, 10oz DD from 1949.
Can any one tell me anything about a hutch bottle embossed with J.House BATAVIA N.Y. in a circle.
Just my feelings here, but I'd clean the outside and leave the contents alone. They add a neat splash of color, too!
