Went out antiquing this weekend to Eureka Springs, AR and other areas around northwestern and central Arkansas. I was hard pressed to find bottles but the last store I went to which wasnt really an antique store randomly had tons of bottles from England from the 1880s or so. They were really cheap too. 2 bucks for each bottle and they are pretty sweet. I did find a few others at some flea markets, got a really nice codd stopper bottle for 30 bucks and those are pretty hard to come by nowadays.
First off, heres some photos of Eureka Springs I took when I was there. The town is one of coolest places you will ever go and if you are into historic preservation than there is no better place to be. The entire town is on the national register of historic places and every house and building has been restored to its victorian splendor. I go up there to escape from the vapid cultural wasteland that is russellville arkansas to get some culture from time to time.
Now onto the bottles I got this weekend.
Nice Dr. Hostetters Bitter
The neatest one I found this weekend. Came from England, Beef Juice.
This ones got some pretty bad staining, I can probably get it clean though hopefully.
I really like this one, Hamlins Wizard Oil from Chicago.
My favorite one from the weekends plundering.
This one should clean up nicely.
This is a really cool chemists bottle that came from an apothecary in England.
This is a really neat one, Eiffel Tower Fruit Juice, hmmm
If anyone has any info on these bottles, please do tell. Thanks!
