Dug a trash pit today and came up with a few pre-pro crown top beers and a local Art Deco soda. The last photo was a real crier.

Bummer, last pic a pontil something. LEON.
It killed me... haven't come across an iron pontil whole. But there is more probing and digging to be done. Iron pontil is a bucket lister for me.

You ain't the Lone Ranger. Still looking for one. I've found a few open pontil bottles, but no IPs.

Sweet! There is a town in Pennsylvania I want to visit soon, that was a local mining operation. It has a creek, with bottles in it I'm sure. There's another mining town with pontiled sodas, but the creek waters are poisonous.

I'm sure every digger would love getting their hands on an open pontil or iron pontil bottle. I think my chances are pretty good in the area I dug it. I just have to keep expanding my search around that point. It's a huge wooded area with very little telltales that bottles may be there. The trash pit had mostly teen's - 40's stuff though.

Too bad about the poisoned creek from the mining. You know they threw a lot of stuff in there, other than waste. Do you know what the toxins are? Be that as it may, personally, I'd have reservations about bringing home anything from that creek.

Coal mine runoff. It taints everything orange. Even the rocks are orange. I can see stuff at the bottom when it's low, but that water isn't exactly going to be easy for bottle cleaning with the stain and all. The coal pits and tributary's are good though. The other town I'm looking that doesn't have any stuff in the water, and it has great glass.

Awesome... Good luck, I hope you kill it. PA must be a great place to dig. it seems Penn diggers find a heck of a lot more squat mineral waters and pony soda blobs than most other places. Hutches and smaller blobs are like gold around here. Anyway, give it hell.
