I was thinning out the collection of ancient projectile weapons a few days back and decided that these 7 pieces could be auctioned to the highest bidder as financial forum fodder.
The ruler at left measures 6 inches. Originally, 2 had sockets and 5 had tangs. One arrowhead, 2nd from right, seems to have been heated and then hammered straight after it was excavated. It had probably gotten bent after striking someone's armor, or a particularly thick Slavic skull.
They are a mix from Germany and from "Eastern Europe" (probably Bulgaria) and are most likely Medieval. Many sellers claim a Roman origin but most of the forms are reminiscent of 10th-16th century styles, the later ones perhaps used by or against the marauding Turks or similar evil Godless heathens.
The auction ends at 9:00 PM next Thursday, and will be shipped to the winner free of charge after I receive notification that the funds have been sent via paypal to the administrator(s) of this forum.
Bidding starts at 99 cents!
