Hey all, haven't started a post in a long time. Usually about mountain dew, but this time its different. Have the opportunity to purchase a amber Pepsi from Wilson, NC. U know the 1907 one, not the remakes or the amber 50s type. Guess my question is it worth $175? I really want it but if I buy it I'm gonna starve for 2 weeks til I get paid again. Not that big a deal for me to starve if I get that cool of a bottle.

It's the same one posted in 1900 and after section posted earlier this week. Has some deep scratches but no chips anywhere. I know it books for $600 in Ayers, but with the scratches how much would u offer? In my view its a good deal. What u think? Posting pics in following posts. Thanks!

Guess these are sufficient. I am working with the local preservation society now and all of my collection will be donated to them when Im gone. Have been wanting a local amber Pepsi for well, forever. Hope no one decides they want it more and scoop it out from under me. Already talked to the guy and I'm meeting him tomorrow. So, I'm still undecided if its worth it.

If it "books" for $600, and the condition is as good as it looks in the pictures, I don't doubt you could get a good return on your investment. Obviously it's not worth the "book" price, but I'd say it's worth more than $175.

I'm gonna say it's worth it if you're willing to pay that price for it, as I said in the original post I saw amber Pepsi's sell for over $300 recently on E-Bay. Not sure how many chances you're gonna get to buy one so now might be the time....IMHO....Jim

Guess I'm going to have to get it. Knew I was going to get advice to buy it from bottleheads. Guess if I wanted advice not to get it I should've tried Suzie Orman, lol. Will post some pics tonight when I get it home and cleaned up. Can these be polished some to alleviate some of the scratches?

$175 would be fair in that shape. And yep, you could get it tumbled to take those surface scratches right on off. Just get someone to do it that knows what they are doing. Wouldn't want to wear that embossing down.
