Its olive. The piece I have is 3" across which suggests to me that its the side panel. I was thinking the B could be the start of BITTERS or BOSTON.

Appears to be the base of a case gin. I think I have one embossed with a B just like yours.

Well I saw you posted case gin but didn't know what you meant because I have never seen one with sunken panels. Never knew the bases looked like that.
