antique shop finds

[Trying not to break it]

hi everyone, havn't been able to dig lately, ground frozen. so the next best thing is to hit an antique shop[]. i have always been facinated by violin bottles. so i bought the 2 they had, most likely from the 30's. the blue one was made by dell, purple unknown. the purple one has music notes on the back and a pontil base. oh, i bought a milk bottles also, thought it was neat looking. when i got home, found it was not listed in the balt. bottle book. thanks for looking, rhona

The purple violin looks like the Japanese version (LV8) listed at $60-80.00. The blue violin (SV2) Dell is listed at $15-25.00. Prices and ID are from Polak's Antique Trader 5th ed. He has a nice chapter on violin and banjo bottles.

hi paul and matt, thanks for looking. paul, thanks for information. i guess i did pretty good on them. i got the sm. blue one for $7.50 and the purple one for $12. the purple one was pretty dirty, but cleaned up really nice. now if i could only get a value on the milk. thanks again, rhona

hi ben & star, thanks for looking. the purple bottle is loaded with seed bubbles, put they don't show in the pic. that one i pick up and look at, then put it back down. after i found the blue violin, i went back and look at the purple one again, and decided to get it. star, i hope you get to a antique shop soon. rhona
