I don't know anything about it, but that's really cool. Where did you get it from?
Hi Step back in time
I’m from Australia and I have always been an avid beach person and about 50yrs ago when I was a kid i found it wedged in some rocks I have held onto it for that long

Hi Old Sodas
Yes definitely a wine bottle although the leather that is covering it and the prints are in gold paint also the map is very unusual I checked out the map , it dates back to approximately 1750-1770 but I still have no clue on y the bottle has a map

Wouldn't it be nice if it was that old. I still have no idea when its from, but I have seen similar ones that say it's from Italy. Is there any embossing on it?

I agree--not common, interesting on more than one level. Might have been produced for the discerning wine drinkers. --I'd guess late '50s-'60s.

With all the effort put into the decoration I'm thinking it's a one-off art piece. The map shows the west coasts of both North and South America right down to Cape Horn. there's too much labor put into the decoration for it to be one of a run of commercial bottles.
