I collect petroliana (oil/gas cans pumps and signs). One day while picking thru an old farm dump, I stumbled upon a section that was mostly old oil cans and such.
I grabbed 9 old aluminum Esso quart cans and put them together to create Pop-art of sorts. They were still legible but rather beat up....

Oxalic or Citric acid can do amazing things to rusted stuff like oil or beer cans. Sometimes you can really recover a whole lot of a label that you thought was permanently gone to rust. Pretty neat. I like the Pioneer oil can and definitely like the esso "pop art." Are you the Warhol of diggers? [;)] very neat!
