Hey guys, Im new to the forum, Ive had this bottle for a few years now and have never tried searching what it really is until now...I came across this site and thought if anybody knew what it is then you guys would be the ones. Anyways, I found it diving off the coasts of Puerto Rico. I live in PR and have been diving/snorkeling all my life and have found few things but this bottle really caught my eye. Ive been told it could be an old medicine bottle but no one with real experience has seen it. I honestly dont know how old it is so I posted this in the "before 1900" sorry if Im in the wrong section. :)

Its a blue, sort of pearl/translucent kind of smoky glass...Its hard to describe, its got sort of a 'pearlized' iridescent coating on the inside walls if that makes any sense. Its about 9 inches tall, its a bit narrower at the bottom of the bottle than in the middle.

Pics, took a close up of the glass so you can maybe appreciate the iridescent look Im trying to describe. Thanks in advance!

How's that? Take the
off and copy and paste the rest into the little yellow box with the mountains and the postage stamp. That's all I did. Post a pic of the base. Looks kinda pepper saucyish to me. Nice looking bottle. Swiz

Welcome to the forum, Henry...
Looks like you are in the right section, I'd say it's late 1800's.. could have contained a variety of things, like sauce, lime juice, or olive oil, who knows without a paper label. The "opalescence" is caused by minerals interacting with the glass over time.. it's a nice looking specimen. [:)]

Just for kicks...here are some pictures of two other bottles I found. They dont seem to be as rare as the blue one but they look pretty old nonetheless. The small one has a 7 on the bottom..idk if you can make it out from the pic. The big one doesnt have any markings.

Ok, now I'm confused. I'm not sure why the pics aren't posting this time. When I paste them into the reply I can see them but they disappear when I hit the OK button?
