Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, nothing like driving around exploring other areas, you never know what you might come across and find...the cemetery sure looks old and eerie...the country side looks beautiful, cold and secluded, so much different from Hawaii...thanks for taking us along...aloha Earl

I know! It was pretty warm that day, though. Things are getting very green around here, though. I would love to go to Hawaii for a comparison! I think I'll post another pic or two from this fun day.

Most of this cemetery's "residents" were born in Ireland. Did we say that already? Anyway, this place, although purportedly haunted, has a happier feel than the Native American cemetery where I captured the very strange photos.

We marveled at the amazing stone work, done by hand, on these stones. Any freemasons on here?[;)]

RedGinger,

In the late 1800's Free Masons in particular would not have been associated or seen as stone "carvers." The association with stone cutters, actual masons and the like dates back to Biblical times up through the times of the great cathedrals many centuries ago.

I guess it wouldn't be a secret then, would it?[:)] I think the whole masonic thing is pretty interesting. At any rate, I do wonder how they managed to carve out those stones so beautifully. Joe, I really hope we can get back to that one spot soon!
